I’m elevating your ordinary into the extraordinary!

Have you ever felt that God couldn’t use you because you lead an ordinary type of life, not some up front, making a big splash, out there sort of existence. Dare I say a bit mundane even, a bit day by day, nothing much to see here so move on?

If that resonates with you I have good news, in fact it’s not just good news but the greatest news….

I heard God say, “I’m elevating your ordinary into the extraordinary! I’m in the everyday things, the simple things you regard as small but they’re not because I’m in them. Sometimes you miss me because you are looking for me in the big demonstrations of power which I am in, but I’m also in the small everyday details of your lives”.

Are their areas in your life where God is knocking to come in but you haven’t recognised Him because it’s the small everyday stuff?

Rev 3:20 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

“When I’m in the everyday stuff of your life I take your life, your stuff and I elevate it into something extraordinary. Your life is a picture, a demonstration to those around you that there is a God who is good and I’m abundant in my goodness. Let me come in and be in your ordinary and do something wonderful with it”.

He wants to use the ordinary of our lives to display His glory. That’s the way it’s been from the beginning when Jesus was born in an ordinary little stable in Bethlehem and that’s what He’s still doing today.

Against the backdrop of ordinary God is glorified. Our lives are a canvas for His glory.

Psa 144:11-12 They tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, 12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

He is a gentleman and He is asking permission-“Will you allow me to use your life, every area for my glory?”

“Will you allow those you work with to know about me through your life? Those who you wait at the school gates with? Those you do life with? School friends?”

It’s an invitation to invite God into the areas of your life where He has had no access before or limited access. It’s all for His glory.

Activation: Take some time to thank God for His goodness and interest in every area of your life.

Repent from any areas of your life where you have given Him no access or a limited access. This may be the result of fear of man and what others may think about you if they knew you were a Christian, but it’s time to come out of hiding.

Take time to invite the Father into the different areas of your everyday life that you have held back and ask Him to come and turn it into something extraordinary. Your life is a canvas for His glory, every little bit!

Matt 5:13-16 MSG 13 “Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.

14-16 “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

    1. Thankyou so much for feeding back. I’m glad the activations were helpful too. 🙌🏼 Would love to hear any stories where you feel God is using any area of your life you gave Him permission to use for hIs glory. X
