On this page I will talk about music that I am enjoying and being inspired by.

I love listening to music and for me worship is one of my main ways to connect with God.  God often speaks to me through song lyrics and I often wake up with a verse or chorus in my head that stays with me all day.

Currently I am listening to…

King of My Heart by Steffany Gretzinger and Jeremy Riddle from Bethel Church in Redding, California.

I subscribe to their Youtube channel and get a weekly selection of music from them. I love their lyrics and their spontaneous moments during worship led by the Holy Spirit. I also love that on Youtube the tracks are longer as they are recorded live during their worship sessions and they can flow in the prophetic.

I have been resting the last few days as you will know if you have read my blog ‘Rest is Best‘ and this song has really been speaking to me. It is Will Reagan and United Pursuit and its called ‘Take a Moment‘.

I love Will Reagan’s hauntingly beautiful  voice and on this track it sounds amazing. Lie down and relax and let this song wash over you and go deep into your soul. When we come up under the yoke of Jesus it’s easy and His burden is so light!

I’m so grateful that I don’t have to do life by my own effort and strength because some day’s I don’t have enough. Thank you dad that you sent your Holy Spirit to give me strength and power.

Phil 4:13 ‘I can do all this through him who gives me strength’.

I want to share a song that is significant for me as it tells my story of a journey from shame to freedom. What else could my response be to God but to have his name on my lips 24/7. This is sung by Kalley Heiligenthal from Bethel Church in Redding, California as is called ‘Ever Be‘.

The lyrics are superb and as I listen to it the hairs on my arms stand on end. For me it reminds me of the journey God has taken me on and it speaks of identity. I am passionate about people coming into a revelation of their identity in Christ.

Once you understand who you are because of Him everything changes. You realise the authority you carry and that you carry the kingdom wherever you go. Because of this we can expect that when we pray we will see answers and atmospheres to shift as we come into a room.

Enjoy this beautiful song and let your true identity sink deep into you.

As we celebrate Father’s Day in the UK, as well as celebrating my dad and the Lovely Mr B, who is an amazing dad to my two boys and two step children I am thinking of my Father in heaven, Papa who I adore.

This song came to mind this morning and is simple truth that He is a good good father, It’s who He is and it’s His nature to be good, ALL THE TIME!! We are loved by Him and that’s who we are.

Celebrate Papa with this perfect song by Housefires Good Good Father.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

As I start getting excited and thinking about Newday 2016 I am listening again to the Newday album from last year. There were some excellent times of worship in the main tent and I love the way they capture the feel of this on the live recording during the event. There is nothing quite like corporate worship on a large scale like this, with 7000 teenagers singing their hearts out.

What a privilege to be there!

Main Tent Newday

A couple of my absolute favourite tracks from last year are from the amazing Sam Cox who is a worship leader in Brighton. I have added a link to a great interview with him, Simon Brading and Jotham Oakley about how they write worship songs and about one of my faves: Alive with Worship. I also loved I believe by Sam Cox again.

My third fave was from an artist I hadn’t heard before but is now on my playlist, Jake Issac and this hauntingly beautiful song, Greater Than It All. I have included a link to a page about him.

I am expectant for more amazing worship times this year and can’t wait to get to the main tent on the first night and dance like no-ones watching!

Happy listening friends.

Lately I have been enjoying listening to Bryan and Katie Torwalt. They are a married Christian couple from California. ‘Here on Earth’ was their first album together released in 2011. I have this album on repeat and  currently love Sing Holy. They have a newer one out called ‘Kingdom Come’ which I haven’t listened to yet as I am still enjoying their last one so much. I just really love all the tracks on ‘Here on Earth’, but have a listen yourself and see what you think. I have added a link to a song from that album that you may recognise Holy Spirit.

Happy listening!

Having now listened to the Torwalt’s new album Kingdom Come I am bowled over with this particular track…

‘When you walk into the room’.

See what you think 🙂

I was fortunate enough to go and see Carol King in Hyde Park a few weeks ago with the Lovely Mr B.

One of the support acts was a guy called Michael Kiwanuka and we had never heard of him before. When he cme on and started singing the audience suddenly took note as he had such an amazing voice. The atmosphere in the park changed and we knew this was a mighty talent on the stage. His voice has been compared to legends such as Bill Withers, Randy Newman, and Otis Redding, as well as Van Morrison and the Temptations.

We were both taken with the quality of his voice and decided to buy his album (on vinyl of course). So, off we went a few days later to Rough Trade on Brick Lane only to find out that with his album you got a free wrist band to watch him perform live in the shop. Sadly you could only get one wrist band with each album so the Lovely Mr B set off to hear him.

The clips he sent me were amazing and he got to meet and chat with him after the event. So, it turns out that he is a Christian himself and the Lovely Mr B got to pray for him too!

Enjoy these smooth vocals on Love & Hate

Come and join us at Shepherds Bush Empire on 11th October 2016 on his current tour.

3rd September 2016

I have been listening to Bryan and  Katie Torwalt’s new album-Champion over the last few weeks and again I am blown away by the songs on it!

My current favourite is ‘Let there be Light‘. It gives me goosebumps listening to it and I hope you enjoy it too.

Come and have your way God!

Happy listening friends and may God bless your socks off with this song!

I am so excited because I have discovered some new music 🙂 This band was recommended by a friend and is perfect for soaking with God. They are called Cageless Birds and the album is called Live at Home. One of my favourite tracks so far is called Come Close. It is nice and long and very simple but my goodness it draws you into the presence of God. If you want to find out more about Cageless Birds and who they are I have added a hyperlink so you can visit their site.

Enjoy listening friends.

 23rd December 2016

I have been totally blown away by the new album from Jonathan and Melissa Helser called ‘Beautiful Surrender‘. It is such a beautiful album and the songs are full of truth,  powerful and the words pierce your heart and leave you undone. If I want to get into God’s presence I put this album on and soak letting the words sink deep into me. The Helsers are big fans of an event called David’s Tent which is an annual event held in West Sussex in the UK. They have attended for the last few years. David’s Tent is a worship movement and it’s a 72 hour Christian worship festival which gathers local and international worship leaders for 3 days of pure, unadulterated worship.

From ‘Beautiful Surrender’ the opening track through to ‘Abba’ (about the prodigal son) to ‘Find Me’ I am overwhelmed. I have added a link to the album on YouTube.

Please sit back and enjoy over this Christmas holiday.

I have just heard the most amazing song by Elevation Worship called ‘Here As in Heaven‘. This is definitely a song to soak to. The lyrics are simple but carry such an anointing. This is a song that shifts atmospheres!!!

Take some time and allow the song to help create an atmosphere that is conducive to encountering His presence.

The atmosphere is changing now
For the spirit of the Lord is here
The evidence is all around
That the spirit of the Lord is here

Overflow in this place
Fill our hearts with your love
Your love surround us
You’re the reason we came
To encounter your love
Your love surround us

Spirit of God fall fresh on us
We need your presence
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
Here as in heaven

A miracle can happen now
For the spirit of the Lord is here
The evidence is all around
That the spirit of the Lord is here
