The Eco-System of Encouragement

Eco System of Encouragement

When I  was thinking about a title for this post I was imagining living in an eco-system created by encouragement and what that might look and feel like.

I looked up the dictionary definition of encouragement,

Oxford dictionary definition:

Give support, confidence, or hope to (someone)

Persuade (someone) to do or continue to do something by giving support and advice

Stimulate the development of (an activity, state, or belief)

It is such a affirming, uplifting and exciting thing to do and yet something that perhaps we don’t really think about often, in our overly busy days, (at least I don’t think I did). However over the last year and a half as I have been on the TSM Course (Training for Supernatural Ministry) in Bedford I have grown to understand and realise the impact of and power of encouragement in being all you have been called to be. To encourage someone literally means to ‘give them courage‘. In fact, as I have witnessed the effect it has had on me and others around me I have become it’s number one fan!! Without realising it, the culture I have been soaking in has seeped into my very being. As I write this I see a picture of people like seedlings planted in the most fertile of soils growing within a bio-sphere of encouragement and thinking about how amazing they would grow to be, as the best versions of themselves. Imagine the impact they would have on the world!

I have unknowingly and more recently overtly, been seeking to re-create this environment around me at home, work, church, in friendships and in teams I am part of. Just like joy it becomes contagious and you start to ‘affect’ the people around you.

I am bubbling over with thoughts to share but need to take a breather to compose my thoughts in a more coherent fashion as it were. I am going to write a series of blogs on the subject but they come with a health warning!!

In the words of the Pringles advert-‘Once you pop you can’t stop’.

Until then, be encouraged friends and if you’ve taken the time to read this I THANK YOU!!!!
