I feel God giving an invitation to you today…Don’t settle for less than He has for you because you are in a hurry and happy with what you’ve received. I felt a particular emphasis in the context of hearing His voice.
You are being invited to wait on Him to hear more. He has much to show you and share with you. He has more than the small nuggets you have settled for to give to you. These nuggets may be amazing in themselves, but just take a moment to think about what it would look like to linger and hear in a deeper way. He wants to reveal the secrets of His heart to those who would linger longer and not just go to Him for a quick fix.
To linger means: stay in a place longer than necessary because of a reluctance to leave.
In a world where we are always on the go, busy, busy we can often treat God like a heavenly slot machine that we can just come to when we need to hear Him in the moment. But the thing is He is all about relationship and time spent with Him is never wasted.
The goal of the prophetic is to share the Father’s heart with those around us as we live a lifestyle of hearing Him and blessing people with His thoughts and plans for their lives. Plans to encourage them, build them up and propel them further into the calling they have been given. To truly know His heart we need to spend time with Him to grasp the depths of His love for people, places, situations and His heavenly solutions to problems that are happening in the world.
He’s such a good dad though and He will share things with us when we ask, even if we rush in and rush out, but His heart longs for our whole heart and a deep relationship built on mutual trust.
Matt 7: 7-11 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!
Time spent in His presence is the ultimate goal always and not just for what we need from Him, but just because we want to be with Him. For those who will linger longer He will take you to new depths of revelation and understanding. He will share what is on His heart for circumstances, situations, people, places and so much more.
He’s inviting you to come and go to new depths with Him as He wants to reveal treasure that is buried deep and He is inviting you to come on the hunt with Him. He will direct you, not just to mere nuggets, but to seams of pure gold revelation if you’d spend the time to linger longer in His presence.
Prov 25:2 TPT God conceals the revelation of his word in the hiding place of his glory. But the honor of kings is revealed by how they thoroughly search out the deeper meaning of all that God says.
How can you carve out time to linger longer?
What could that look like in your daily life?
Why not ask Him what is on His heart today and then wait for Him to unfold and pull back the curtain of revelation and sit in His glory to see what He says and what He shows you.
